Dr. Tyron Williams

Piano and Voice

Dr. Williams brings tremendous professional experience to WJMA through his extensive background in teaching, theater, and performing arts. He holds a B.A. in  Interpersonal Relations and Communications, with a Minor in Music Education, Theater and Afro-American Music and Studies from William Paterson State College. He is dedicated to working with children and will bring out the very best in anyone with a desire to foster their musical talents. Dr. Williams is nurturing and highly motivational in  his lessons with special needs students.

 

He has performed as a back-up singer for Deniece Williams and Shirley Caesar, and he was a guest artist for the Dr. MLK Celebration, where Yolanda Adams was guest speaker.  He performed on Broadway in "Mama, I Want To Sing" and "Born to Sing" touring with Vy Higginson.  He was the Music Master and Teacher at St. Leo Grammar School, Music Consultant for the Newark Public School Youth Development Program, and Music Director for several choirs throughout NJ.  He is a McDonald's Gospel Fest 2000 winner, recording artist with his own personal CD, "Jingle," as well as with the NJ Mass Choir.
