Nicolette Muse

Voice, Choral Music and Piano

Nicolette Muse is an accomplished music educator, choral director, and vocal instructor with more than 30 years of experience inspiring students of all ages. Her passion for teaching began in childhood, when she sang in her church’s children and youth choirs. As a teenager, she progressed from choir member to accompanist, then to youth choir director—often teaching songs she composed herself. Over time, she expanded her leadership to directing adult choirs and developing music programs that nurtured singers at every stage of their musical journey.

Ms. Muse earned her B.A. in Music Education from The College of New Jersey in 2006, with a concentration in voice. During her studies, she contributed to the 2003 Black History Learning Resource Package for the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, received the TCNJ Student Achievement Award, and was named to the Dean’s List.

Her professional teaching career spans multiple states and school districts, where she has consistently delivered high‑quality general music instruction and choral leadership:

2023–2024 – Riverbank Charter School of Excellence (Roebling, NJ)  

  • Teacher of General Elementary Music; responsible for lesson planning and assessment design.

2022–2023 – Newport News Public Schools (Newport News, VA)  

  • Teacher of General Elementary Music; developed curriculum, lesson plans, and assessment rubrics.

2019–2021 – Salem City Public Schools (Salem, NJ)  

  • Teacher of General Middle School Music and Choral Director; created instructional materials and performance opportunities for students.

2018–2019 – Richmond City Public Schools (Richmond, VA)  

  • Teacher of General Elementary Music; prepared instructional plans and assessment tools.

2016–2018 – Movement Xpress (Willingboro, NJ)  

  • Instructor for beginner vocal and piano students, fostering foundational musicianship and confidence.

Across every role, Ms. Muse has demonstrated a deep commitment to helping students unlock their abilities, strengthen their musical skills, and discover their artistic voice. Her extensive background in vocal performance, piano instruction, and choral direction continues to shape her work as an educator who leads with enthusiasm, compassion, and a belief in the transformative power of music.
